Documentation Specialists (Job
Code - SDS)
For our software development we need documentation
specialists who understand the needs of technical documentation, can work
with our software and write manuals and tutorials. We also need people
who can supervise, edit and monitor the documentation of systems, user
specifications, design, software components and programs and quality procedures
and results.
We would prefer if you will be willing to work on specific assignments
and complete them in a time-bound manner. Guidelines for the development
of documentation can be drafted out and agreed to. We will like it if
you have already done substantial work on this area and can make suggestions
on better methods to document and illustrate the working and operations
of our software for our customers and for our own internal records.
You should be a graduate in any discipline with a flair for writing. You
should have worked on a number of software products and browsed through
many online web interfaces. You should have carried out atleast a few
assignments involving documentation for software products and projects.
You will need to understand the technical features and nuances of our
software solutions, understand the profiles of our users and guide our
development and project management team to provide you with the necessary
information needed to prepare good documentation. You should be then able
to work with our software, understand its features, functionality and
navigation and document a manual that will enable users to learn and apply
their learning to the use of our software, administrators and software
maintenance engineers to manage our software from installation, configuration,
setup and customization, and our own development team from having a good
record of the project and issues required for maintenance and updation.

will need to prepare the documentation on your own and you will therefore
need to be skilled in the use of editors like Microsoft Word. Your keyboard
familiarity must be good and you will need to dextrous on composing documents
directly on the computer.
